Storck launches the new aerodynamic road bike Storck Aerfast.5 PRO, the fastest racing bike in the world. The GST wind tunnel test results show that the Storck Aerfast.5 PRO only needs 195W of power to maintain 45km/h. That is 7W more than the aerodynamic series of the Storck Aerfast.5 and 14W more than the Sl8. In the TOUR test, the power was 201W. In addition to its excellent aerodynamic performance, the computer-aided frame configuration of the Aerfast.5 is also impressive. It reduces the frame weight to an amazing 890 grams, which is lighter than its predecessor. The use of the highest quality carbon fiber has a positive impact on the overall performance.

Wind tunnel operator Ernst Pfeifer speculated not long ago that 5 to 6 watts of power could make advanced aerodynamic bikes faster. From 2022, the guidelines of the International Cycling Union (UCI) allow for more aerodynamic tube shapes, making riders faster. The latest example is the Aerfast.5, the successor to the second-fastest production bike in the TOUR test so far, on which Markus Storcker begins a new record chase. The enterprising manufacturer's goal is to break the 200-watt mark for the second time and make the Aerfast the fastest race bike. Thus the StorckAERFAST.5 PRO is born, which pushes the permissible limits to the extreme and features extremely thin carbon tubes.

While the spectacular fork and the streamlined cockpit remain the same, the length of the head tube has increased significantly: This vertical load-bearing surface measures approximately 130 millimeters, which together with the optimized tube shapes, junctions and fast wheels should have a significant impact on aerodynamics. The Aerfast.5 therefore aims to at least reach the speed of the Pride ll, which achieves a best value of 199 watts at 45 km/h.

The new Storcks are all pure race bikes, slightly outperforming the nominally faster Austrian manufacturer Boli in the wind tunnel. In addition to its excellent aerodynamics, the Storck also benefits from a significant weight reduction in the evaluation: compared to its predecessor with almost identical components, it saves 360 grams and is even 620 grams lighter than the Simplon. Storck used different carbon fibers and also improved the technology of the tooling. This allowed the weight of the frame (1,113 grams) and fork (476 grams) to remain the same. Compared to the Aerfast.4, the new model also does not have a power meter, and the lightweight Tubolito tubes also contribute to the weight reduction. The rest is made up of the seat tube, cockpit and short handlebar tape, allowing the Aerfast.5 to set the best times in a variety of riding situations!

The aerodynamics of the Aerfast.5 have been further improved in key areas. The head tube is particularly eye-catching, as the airflow can flow more effectively to the rear of the frame in accordance with the new UCI guidelines. In addition to the head tube, the depth of the seat tube and seat tube has also been increased to avoid air turbulence. The transition from seat tube to seat tube also stands out, and this is not just visual. Based on the radical concept of the Storck Aero2 at the time, the seat tube connection and the flared design of the seat tube also have an optimized cross section, which further achieves aerodynamic advantages.

The fifth generation Aerfast combines all the experience of the previous products. The saddle rise design typical of aerodynamic road bikes allows for faster riding, and the high stiffness of the comfortable sports seat tube spring allows for a direct and fast response to every acceleration and mountain riding. In particular, the stiffness of the base has been further increased compared to the previous model. With this setting, it is impossible to ride slowly. The bike just wants to rush forward.
